London Cool recently made a site visit to a new customer based locally in the Crawley area. DNA are a logistics company in City Place, a business development just off the Gatwick Road in Crawley which houses companies such as Nestle and Novo Nordisk, and is adjacent to Gatwick Airport. City Place and its businesses are also part of the Gatwick Diamond Business District.
DNA operate a large warehouse/storage facility with offices attached. The warehouse building used to be a hangar for British Caledonian helicopters - remember them?
London Cool have advised DNA to have fixed air conditioning installed into the offices for comfort cooling which in the cooler months will provide energy efficient heat pump heating. We undertook a free site survey and a quote will be prepared as soon as possible. Meanwhile, London Cool have supplied three hose venting portable room air conditioner units, all delivered to site the same day. This temporary air conditioning solution has provided comfort cooling for two offices and a meeting room. The pedestal fan when placed in front of one of the portable air conditioner units was particularly appreciated by one four-legged member of staff!
DNA store and transport a wide variety of ambient goods from their large warehouse – anything from high value aircraft seats, water treatment tablets and high energy drinks, which are particularly popular and fast-moving at the moment given the warm weather. The aircraft seats are also supplied for another local Crawley company Acro Aircraft Seating..
The workplace temperature is also important because DNA host a variety of health and safety courses at their premises. These range from first aid, fire safety, manual handling, forklift truck training, HGV driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) and a relatively new course, vulnerable road users.
